The free services usually do not have as extensive databases as the paid, nor do they keep them updated as often. You can spend a lot of time searching through the free ones to no avail when the paid ones may provide you quicker and more accurate results. You just have to determine how much time you have, and what your time is worth. Many of the paid ones allow you to key in your search first, and then a message is displayed telling you whether they have found anything that matches your criteria. You then pay a fee to see the results. This allows you to at least know if there are any matches, and then you can decide if it is worth the fee. In addition, some of these provide a limited scope of free searches and results, and then you can upgrade to the more extensive services.

While you have to pay a fee for these services, it may result in a savings of time and accuracy. As a result, you may be back in touch with someone very soon that you have been missing. You just have to ask yourself how much this is worth to you.
